Josh Royse is a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter who marries bright indie folk rock and bluesy electric guitar with uplifting vocals. His lyrical talent is at once compelling, arresting, and groundbreaking, with vocals echoing road-worn grit fresh off the farm of Oklahoma’s panhandle. Josh employs a coy lyricism while crafting love songs and tangential inquiries inspired by depths of culture, creativity, and cosmic energy electrifying this time. Josh’s music reflects the human struggle of a young man who has loved, lost—and grown through the journey.
Josh’s catchy songs, contagious energy and tight band will have you humming his tunes for days. Early in his musical career, Josh earned international acclaim after filming himself singing in the shower. His YouTube channel attracted millions of views from the US, Canada and France, which led to two successful European tours. American Idol featured his original song, “The Greatest Feeling of All” on their website and credited him as Idol Alumni. Josh is the only Indie Folk Rock songwriter playing original material in Las Vegas casinos, where he performs weekly at three residences: The Container Park, Rosalita’s, and Drop Bar.
Josh recently flew to Moncton, Canada to open for B.B. King in a sold out show at the Casino New Brunswick, played at the Brooklyn Bowl, and headlined a spot for Las Vegas’ Downtown Brew Festival at Clark County Amphitheater. He’s also performing at Seattle Brew Fest in November. In May 2014, Josh released his first EP, Josh Royse, through Nicki Jack Music. Ahead lay many miles on the road, new music videos (check out YouTube) and his first full-length LP.
